Social Responsibilities
To develop a sense of social obligations and spread the ideas about individual and group civic responsibilities, Anjuman-I-Islam’s Polytechnic for Girls organize several projects with the help of its staff and students. For instance, the River Cleaning project, Swachhta Abhyan, Tree plantation, Sports day, Old- Age home visits to pamper the elderly generation are some of the many social initiatives taken by the institute. The aim behind this is to generate a level of sensitivity, compassion, and humanity towards social issues in our society among the future generation.
Alumni Meet
This alumni meet started with baby steps in 2005. There were approximately 180 participants in the initial year. However, today they can boast of as many as 400-500 members. The aim is to bring the Anjuman community closer & make them a part of the institute’s continued growing family. On this day the toppers and achievers are felicitated. The focus is on those who have made a mark for themselves in the outside world. The main vision behind these regular meetings is to encourage the younger generation to motivate, guide and be self sufficient. The program has several games, loads of fun and ends with a dinner to thank all for taking time off and participating in the event.
Workshops and Industrial Visits
As part of the industrial visits, Fashion Designing staff and students visit different places like Baramati, Islampur, Surat Aurangabad, Ichal Karanji, Theur etc. to make the students come in contact with the ground realities of the industry and to encourage them to get knowledge, awareness and passion towards their field.
Preschool Projects
This day is especially for Preschool teacher’s training courses. Since 2009, every year, the students select a theme of logical interest covered under the project day so far include topics like Jungle Safari. Save Mother Earth, Water(Mission H2o), Five Elements of Nature, Child –Centric Education, Letter land and many more.
Various schools like St. Mary’s church Nursery, Don Bosco, Moledina school, Kider Brook, Little Champs, Rainbow kids, Dr(Mrs) Erin Nagarwala school, Orange Ivy, Abeda Inamdar Vocational board trainee etc. are invited to get involved in the whole process of creating awareness on such important topics.
Intercollegiate Talent Competition
Anjuman-I-Islam’s Polytechnic for Girls started organizing these intercollege competitions with an aim to provide exposure to its students and to build confidence in them. These competitions bring a sense of independence and inculcate in them the importance of outside interaction. The initial participation was only from 10 colleges. However, the number has reached as high as 33 in 4 years. The fest includes different themes bringing about a variety and freshness. The competitions were based on interesting topics like debate, draping, fashion illustration, teaching aids, make-up and hairstyles, Rangoli, mehendi, classical dance, singing, cooking, craft based on best out of waste concept and even covered topics like computers including PowerPoint presentations. It reaches out to students from other institutes and helps in promoting or varied courses.
Fashion Show
Fashion Show Event happens annually to showcase the best of our student’s work on the ramp. It encourages students to break the benchmarks, reinvent the norms, and break the rules of the design to create something truly unique and extraordinary
We enhance the talent of our budding designers and encourage their creativity. Many of our students have received projects in industry and job offers after completing the course.
